About the Summit

Space-based technology, data and information has become central to the running of our modern
societies and to how we plan for the future. Space is, on the one hand, an inescapable component to
human activities and development, and also a central asset to addressing the many challenges we
face today.

This is particularly true for the Atlantic region, a Blue World, where space has an important role to
play in various domains, such as preserving, managing and utilising our marine resources and
ecosystems, monitoring for safety and security, geolocation services for transportation and, of
course, science, among many others. Space is also a vital tool in keeping us united and avoiding
isolation in areas that are remote or of difficult access.

At the same time, in order to ensure that we can properly and effectively use our space assets to
provide these services and reach these goals, we need to retain our ability to access and utilise
space, increasingly cluttered by debris, in a sustainable manner.

As such, we invite you to participate in the 3 rd New Space Atlantic Summit, which will take place on
the 30 th October 2020. Due to the ongoing situation, this year’s Summit will be completely virtual,
giving people from all over the world the opportunity to attend.

This year’s edition will have a double theme: “clean Oceans with clean Space”, and will bring
together virtually stakeholders from across the Atlantic world to discuss, identify and make the most
of the opportunities presented by space.
